Peachy Keen Challenge 32 - Sketch - Aug 2012

This week over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog a Sketch Challenge is going on. I love Peachy Keen stamps, since my drawing talent is stick men and stick woman.

Peachy Keen Challenge 32 - Sketch -  Aug 2012

So here is my card that I made for the challenge.

I used the Cricut Lite Recess cartridge for the little school girl sitting at her desk. The cardstock comes from Recollections Back to School collection.

I used the Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids Assortment for her face. Then used my Sukura Gelly Roll Pen in White for her eyes and my Bic markers for the rest of the face.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design's Simply Everything. This is a great stamp set full of sentiments for every occasion.

The Tree stamp is from a local Dollar store which I colored with Copics and added some Glossy Accents to the apple to give it shine.

The inside sentiment is from a Studio G set that I got at Michaels.

You should head on over to Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge Blog and check out the other entries, there are many very talented crafters out there.

Beetle to the Rescue!

This week on one of my adventures to Costco, I did something that was really silly. I was having rather a bad day and then... I locked my keys in the car along with my purse and cell phone.

What a disaster... I can't believe that I did that... really. I quickly ran around the car trying all the doors even the trunk but no luck, locked nice and tight. A little bit of panic set in and then I thought  I'd go to the tire center, maybe someone there can help me. No one to be found, I can hear them in the back but still no one comes out, now what???

I start walking back to my car when a yellow VW Beetle drives into the same aisle as me only 2 spots over... I wonder if they can help? So I made my way over and asked if they happen to have the number to the VW line (which is in the owners manual/which is in the locked car). Unfortunately they didn't have the book in the car but they were members of BCAA.

Next thing I knew she was on the phone, calling them to help open my car. I can't believe that they did that for me, I was so shocked and so thankful for their kindness. I wanted to repay them but they said it was fine and that they were glad they could help. It's nice to know that there are still people out there that would help someone if they needed it and ask nothing in return.

I wanted to make them a Thank you card, so after I got into my car I wrote a quick note on a napkin, gave her my blog address and stuck it under the windshield blade. Hope they get a chance to see it, because I truly appreciate their generosity that day.

I made a different type of card this time, I made a twisted easel card.

I stamped my Imaginisce Vroom stamp in Memento Dandelion ink and then colored in with a yellow Copic.  I then stamped Thank you from the Pink By Design Here Comes the Bride stamp set. I added some Lemon Divine Twine and used the Beep Beep Cuttlebug folder for the tire tracks.

I used my Spellbinder's Ovals and Scalloped Ovals and embossed the front sentiment. It is from the My Favorite Kind stamp set by Pink By Design. The inside sentiment is a stamp from Stampin' Up.

So if you read this - here's a BIG THANK YOU from me to you!

I will also be linking this to the Sarah Hamer's Link Up Tuesday. Stop by and check out what everyone has been up to.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone.

I just got home last week from a well deserved holiday and straight back to work I went. I didn't want to leave the sun behind and head back to the real world but I had to.

Well this week was my friend's birthday and every year we go camping to celebrate the occasion. Camp fire, food, drinks, stars and of course s'mores.

I bought her a balloon and whipped up this simple birthday card for her.

I used  Recollections cardstock and my Indentz Vine 1 folder to emboss the background, then stamped one of the butterflies from Inkadinkado Butterflies stamp set in StazOn Teal Blue ink. I decided to cut out the butterfly with the Spellbinders Peony Die set and added some popdots.

The sentiment is from Pink By Design's Sibling Love stamp set, cut out with the Spellbinders Grommet Tags and attached using Divine Twine in Aqua.

The inside sentiment comes from Studio G, I think.

So here are some Butterfly Birthday Wishes!!!!

To another great year of new adventures and treasured memories.

Bucket List

A while back I found this interesting and informative blog called Bucket List Publications

What a great blog, I've really enjoyed reading many of Lesley Carter's posts from high adventure, the latest in camping gear to baby products.

I have a Bucket list and it's a mile long! On the very top of my list:

Travel, my soul begs to travel, it needs to see the world, eat food the way it was meant to be, take in all that I can and realize how much I have to be thankful for. There are so many places I would love to go.

One day after I finish paying off student loans and everything else I will travel and see parts of the world yet unknown to me and I can't wait!

Among other things on my bucket list :

Owning a Scrapbook/ Bakery/ Party store/ Event planning. One place where you could come and get it all. The cake, the invitations, decorations, goody bags.  I always love throwing a good theme party with all the fixings. Maybe one day I will own my store.

Getting certified for Scuba Diving, I live on the West Coast on Vancouver Island and it is home to some of the best diving in the world. I can only imagine what lies beneath the surface of the water. I tired it once in a pool and loved it, I'm such a water baby.

Owning a Seaward Kayak I would love to own my very own kayak, I love the freedom it gives you, gliding effortlessly through the water. I could be having the worst day ever and get in a kayak and hit the water and forget all about it.

Salmon fishing. I have never fished on the ocean and would love to try it out one day, there are many companies that charter trips here.

Then there's Rock climbing, Zip lining, Skydiving and Paragliding, I would love to go zip lining over the jungle.

Week long vacation on a House boat .... what a blast that would be!

A complete spa weekend with all the pampering and chocolate I can handle.

So what's on your Bucket List? What are you waiting for, start making a list, check it twice and start checking them off!

I love my Dog!

I love my Dog! He's not really my dog, he's my neighbor's dog but I love him too. It's like having a dog but without any of the associated costs..... it's great!

He comes and goes as he pleases, he knows he's always welcome here.

Anytime I put something onto the BBQ, he's right by my side giving me that face that says " LOVE ME, LOVE ME, LOVE ME". He's too cute.

Often when I am outside working on a post he is laying quietly beside me, keeping me safe while I write away.

He is a great dog and I love him.

For this card I used Recollections cardstock and the Crafts Too - Bone and Paw Print Embossing Folder.

I used the Woof Woof Dog stamp set from Recollections that I got at Michaels with black embossing powder for both the dog and the sentiment. I used my Spellbinders Classic Inverted Scalloped Squares to cut out the dog and the Spellbinders Tag Trio for the sentiment. I added some color with my Bic markers and some popdots for dimension.

Then used my Stud/Deco Corner Chomper and added a few Recollections Paw brads and gave the dog a couple Bone brads.

For the inside sentiment I used the Pink by Design February Stamp of the Month Rain or Shine. Is that sentiment not perfect or what?!

I also stamped the fire hydrant on red cardstock and cut it out with my Honey Bee Scissors....couldn't live without these..they are awesome!!!!

I will be entering this card in the Cardz TV Challenge #12 Anything Goes. You should head on over to Cardz TV and check out Mary and her new Design Team have been up to.
